Environmental issues, especially urban air pollution, acid rain and toxic air emissions are of increasing concern to governments and people all over the world.
Most countries recognise the importance of quantifying and limiting the amount of critical pollutants including ozone, carbon oxides, sulphur dioxide and nitrogen oxides and heavy metals, e.g. lead, that are emitted to the environment. We provide a complete line of pure gases, mixtures and equipment for monitoring process liquids, waste streams, and the environment.
International, national and regional law regulates pollution control guidelines imposed on waste incinerators, power plants, industrial manufacturers and others. The need for environmental testing of the water, soil and air is therefore an important issue in today's production processes. Precision testing must accurately measure levels of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC's), PCBs, emissions and other pollutants within the plant, and in the ambient air and surroundings.

A wide variety of plants including electric power stations, refineries, chemical plants, pulp and paper mills are required to operate Continuous Emission Monitoring (CEM) systems to quantify the amount of critical pollutants such as SO2, NOX, CO2 etc. in the facility's exhaust stream. CEM units must be calibrated on a regular basis using gas calibration standards produced under a stringent manufacturing protocol often mandated by either national law and regulations, e.g. EPA and NIST or international standards such as EN 14000. Using our mixtures assures the customer to remain in compliance with national requirements and regulations.
